Forum Title: Airless paint gun recommendation for steel shop
Hello, I have a misc steel and structural steel shop. We mainly shop prime only. We will have about 1000' of 8' high security fencing, 20+ staircases, guardrailing and etc that will need to be primed for the weeks to come. Lots of priming to do. I went into my local dun Edwards yesterday and impulsively picked up a graco 390. Haven't used it yet but I'm having second thoughts of over working this small machine after reading others post. My questions to the paint expert in this forums is that should I return this unit and upgrade? If so what model do you recommend? We have a paint station set up at the shop and the guys will be aggressively priming from 8-5. Thanks in advance. T

Depends on the viscosity of your primer, and what tip size you're using. If it's a heavy primer and a big tip, it would be over working the pump for sure. Keep it oiled up with packing saver.
